Lufkin athletes competed at the Division I state meet for Classes 5A and 6A in Abilene this weekend, earning strong results across multiple divisions. Eli Ochoa captured the state championship in the 132-pound division with an impressive 1,530-pound total, setting new records in the squat, bench press, and deadlift.
Alex Trejo competed in the 275-pound division, finishing 15th with a total of 1,500 pounds, while Antonio Porter placed 14th in the 308-pound division with a total of 1,380 pounds. We are proud of all three athletes for representing Lufkin at the state level.
