Garrett Primary

Garrett Primary, home of the Cowboys, serves Lufkin ISD’s youngest learners in Pre-K3 and Pre-K4. Built in 1951 and named for Malinda Garrett, one of Dunbar’s original three teachers. The campus stands on land donated by Mrs. Garrett and her husband when the school, originally Dunbar Primary, was first constructed. Today, Garrett provides a nurturing early-learning environment where every young Cowboy begins their educational journey with curiosity, confidence, and joy.
