Lufkin High School AV completed a UIL documentary, Man in the Dugout, which finished among the top 15 documentaries in Class 5A at the 2026 UIL Film Festival. The film also placed in the top four of its semifinal pod, missing the finals by just two points in the judges’ scoring. Only six films in the state advance to the finals.
The film highlights 50 years of coaching by legendary youth baseball coach Bud Maddux.
