Dear Lufkin ISD Families, Due to the anticipated weather conditions, the Lufkin Education Foundation Kickball Tournament has been postponed. We are happy to share that the electricity has been restored at Anderson Elementary! Thank you for your patience and understanding while Oncor worked diligently to resolve the issue.

Dear Anderson Family,
Unfortunately, additional electrical repairs are still needed that affect our campus. Oncor is working diligently to resolve the issue, and we may experience temporary power interruption while the repairs are being completed.
Our students are comfortable and will continue learning as planned in their classrooms while the repairs are underway.

We are happy to share that power has been fully restored at Anderson Elementary! School will resume as scheduled tomorrow, Thursday, September 24.

Dear Anderson Families,
Due to electricity, we will be dismissing school early.
Car riders, please pick up your students before 1:00pm. The buses will be leaving our campus by 1:30pm. If your child is a bus rider, transportation will be contacting you to see if they will be riding the bus or picked up from school.
If your child is still here by 1:30pm, we will be in touch with additional instructions for those students who remain. If at all possible, please make arrangements to pick up your child or meet them at their bus stop.

Dear Anderson Elementary Parents and Guardians,
We want to provide an important update regarding the power outage affecting Anderson Elementary.
ONCOR has located the issue and has informed us that the power to the campus will need to be completely turned off in order to make the necessary repairs. Unfortunately, the power will not be restored until after the school day today.
Because of this, Anderson Elementary will need to dismiss students early and close for the remainder of the school day.
We will provide additional information regarding the early dismissal process and transportation as soon as possible. Please watch for further communication from Lufkin ISD and Anderson Elementary.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work with ONCOR to safely resolve the issue and ensure the safety of our students and staff.

Anderson Elementary families,
We want to make you aware that the campus is currently operating on a limited power supply. While electricity remains available throughout the school, the campus air conditioning units are temporarily down.
ONCOR is actively working to resolve the issue, and power is currently expected to be fully restored around 12:30 p.m. Students and staff remain at school as normal, and there is no need for parents to make any changes to their plans at this time.
We will continue to monitor the situation and communicate any additional information or updates if needed.

A Quick Dress Code Reminder, Eagles! 🦅💙
We know mornings are busy, so here’s a friendly reminder to help our students have a safe, comfortable, and successful day at school!
👟 Shoes: Please make sure students wear shoes that have a back/heel strap and are appropriate for school activities. House shoes/slippers are not permitted, and students need proper shoes for PE. This helps keep our Eagles safe while running, playing, and participating in physical activities.
🩳 Shorts: Shorts and other bottoms should be fingertip length or longer. A quick check at home can help prevent a clothing change or interruption to the school day.
We appreciate our families partnering with us to make sure students are safe, ready to learn, and ready to SOAR! 🦅✨
