The Panther Band earned first division superior ratings from all five judges and also earned a first-place ranking in class 5A from all five judges, culminating in the rank of first place overall in class 5A.

Congratulations to the 2019-2020 Lufkin ISD Leadership Academy! This is the fourth year for a cohort of Lufkin ISD employees to come together for the sole purpose of honing leadership skills.

Angela Pool, 1st grade teacher at Burley Primary, was awarded the Dawn Youdan Memorial Teacher Grant given annually by the Angelina Rotary Club.

Lieutenant David Rodriguez and Director of Nursing Jan Fulbright conducted the first Stop the Bleed training beginning with the primary school leaders.

The Outdoor Learning Classroom at Slack Elementary, funded with a grant from the Lufkin ISD Education Foundation, has three new residents in the beautiful space.

Representatives from Georgia-Pacific presented a check in the amount of $5,000 to the Lufkin ISD Career Technical Education (CTE) program at Lufkin High School to help finance students going to state and national competitions. 

Lufkin High School had the opportunity to welcome Leadership Lufkin to walk the halls and meet students and staff who make LHS a great place to learn. The group was treated to hands-on activities to get the full effect of classes at LHS.

The Pre-K 3 students at Hackney Primary learned all about jobs in our community from law enforcement to nursing. Thanks for our community and school volunteers who made this event special!
