Lufkin ISD has once again been awarded a highly competitive discretionary grant for Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP), a grant from the U.S. Department of Education.

LHS Advanced Placement Scholars named
During the 2021-2022 school year, 457 Advanced Placement (AP) exams were given to 253 Lufkin ISD students. Fifty-four percent of the students who took the exams made a 3 or higher. With the AP exam, comes some distinguishing honors.

Board sets proposed tax rate at August board meeting

Hackney three-year-olds will move to Garrett Primary in the 2022 school year
For the 2022-2023 school year, 3K students from Hackney Primary will combine with the 4K students to attend school at the Garrett Primary campus located at 229 Leach Street. The move comes due to the decline in enrollment for PreK services.
