Dunbar Tigers are trained in bus safety thanks to the Lufkin ISD Transportation department. The staff brought over a shiny, new bus and their top-notch trained instructors and drivers to talk to the students about what to do in case of an emergency.

See You at the Pole is a global movement of prayer which is student-initiated, student-organized, and student-led. This year, the LHS Fellowship of Christian Athletes led the event and gathered for prayer around the flag poles near the new baseball and softball complex.

The Governor of Texas approved a $50 million grant for the purchase of the ballistic shields for schools.

According to LMS Principal Andres Mijares, the band hall is in the finishing stages of  renovations, and they anticipate moving students in within the next couple of weeks.

LHS junior Christian Rodriguez talked to head coach Todd Quick about Friday’s big win over A&M Consolidated and looked ahead to Friday’s district opener against Longview.

“I love working with the kids! It’s the lightbulb moments. You see it: ‘Oh, my, good! We did it!’ They all have it. It’s amazing to me,” said Mr. G.

The Lufkin ISD Education Foundation board along with LHS cheerleaders, drumline, and LISD Administration loaded up on a yellow school bus to deliver big checks to award teachers’ innovative ideas.

“I’ve learned that helping people can be anywhere, any job,” said Moore.
