Slack Elementary’s fourth and fifth grade students enjoyed a “tasting” of autobiographies, biographies, fantasies, informational texts and realistic fiction at the Starbooks Cafe.

The district is closed for Labor Day holiday on Monday.

“We are looking forward to a great year now that we’ve started,” Robbie Kuykendall, GEAR UP Coordinator said. “The staff and students are getting used to seeing us.”
