Diego Barahona, LHS junior, won first place in Database Applications at the Business Professionals of America (BPA) National Leadership Conference in Dallas.
Lufkin High School teachers Laura Stevens and Marshall Gorham received the prestigious Beulah Dominy and Samual Gee Gill Teacher of the Year Award at the Lufkin ISD End of Year Service Award Banquet.
The STEM Academy is a partnership and cohort program between Lufkin High School and Stephen F. Austin State University, aimed at enriching the high school experience for students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

Brandon Elementary students enjoyed an in-depth and up-close lesson on reptiles from Cen-Tex Reptile and Wildlife Services.
Virtual Job Fair sign ups will begin on Monday, April 18. Interviews will be the following week.
“The addition of these LED Road Flares will greatly enhance the safety of our Law Enforcement and Security Officers during traffic direction at both Lufkin High School, Lufkin Middle School, sporting events and graduation,” said Lufkin ISD Police Officer Jeff Taylor.

Congratulations to the new inductees of the Elementary Honor Society and the returning members. Students were recognized at the Tom J. Lucas Auditorium at Lufkin High School.
