New teachers started their school year with a luncheon and words of support from both Superintendent Lynn Torres and the Lufkin ISD board of trustees.

Lufkin ISD is partnering with Angelina College and the T.L.L. Temple Foundation to create an Early College High School in order to make college a reality for students who might not otherwise have the opportunity and/or support.

Mrs. Lynn Torres, Superintendent, said, “At Lufkin ISD, we hire the best and that is evident when we have positions that come available and are able to fill those positions with talented, well-educated staff members that are prepared and ready for these opportunities.
