Lufkin Middle School students were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society at the Tom Jack Lucas Auditorium.

Lufkin High School partnered with Stephen F. Austin State University for the first LHS “signing” event that included almost 50 high school seniors.

Dr. Monique Nunn has been named the new Director of the LHS Gear Up program. The Gear Up program helps students prepare to be successful for high school and beyond.

“We are the first and last to see these students and often are placed in multiple roles while still ensuring their safety. I have a heart for all students and want to have a positive impact in the lives of students, parents, community and staff,” said Ms. Sootoo.

With baseball and softball in full swing at our new facilities at the high school and Easter egg hunts and field days at our primary and elementary campuses, this is one of my favorite times of year.

“We appreciate the quality student teacher candidates that come from Stephen F. Austin State University, and we look forward to partnering with the university in investing in future teachers,” said Kurt Stephens, Deputy Superintendent.

Brandon Elementary students enjoyed an in-depth and up-close lesson on reptiles from Cen-Tex Reptile and Wildlife Services.

Virtual Job Fair sign ups will begin on Monday, April 18. Interviews will be the following week.

“The addition of these LED Road Flares will greatly enhance the safety of our Law Enforcement and Security Officers during traffic direction at both Lufkin High School, Lufkin Middle School, sporting events and graduation,” said Lufkin ISD Police Officer Jeff Taylor.

“Josh is data driven and has a tremendous desire to help all students be successful,” said Lynn Torres, Superintendent of Schools.

Congratulations to the new inductees of the Elementary Honor Society and the returning members. Students were recognized at the Tom J. Lucas Auditorium at Lufkin High School.

“When it comes to high school military style marching bands, Lufkin Is known by many, even here at A&M, as among the best,” said Kyle.

“It is an honor to serve Lufkin ISD, collaborate with great district leaders, and support teachers as the Director of Early Childhood,” said Mrs. Dean.

“These employees work tirelessly day in and day out to ensure that our staff and students have everything they need to be successful,” said Daniel Spikes, Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services.

“Both of my parents are educators and so I have always felt like an old soul in education. I had my first opportunity as a Campus Principal for Central Junior High at 26 years old because of leadership my parents instilled in me,” said Dr. Cauthen.

The Lufkin High School chapter of the National Honor Society held an Induction Ceremony Tuesday to honor the senior and junior inductees.
