Hackney three-year-olds will move to Garrett Primary in the 2022 school year
For the 2022-2023 school year, 3K students from Hackney Primary will combine with the 4K students to attend school at the Garrett Primary campus located at 229 Leach Street. The move comes due to the decline in enrollment for PreK services.

Lufkin High School choir students recently competed at the UIL State Solo and Ensemble Contest earning a Superior or Excellent rating. Each of these students had to learn and perform a song from memory for a judge at the state contest in Austin.

The Beaumont Foundation announced Amy Rhoades, Coston Elementary teacher, and Emily Courtney, Lufkin High School teacher, as recipients of the 2022 Gilbert I. “Buddy” Low Excellence in Education Award at an awards gala in San Augustine, Texas on Tuesday night.
