The grand total for scholarships accrued by the Class of 2021 seniors amounts to $3,830,675. This amount includes alumni association scholarships, college and university scholarships, military awards and community donors’ scholarships. At the beginning of the night, the valedictorian and salutatorian were announced. The 2021 LHS valedictorian is Taha Nazeer and the salutatorian is Yousuf Mir.
Taha Nazeer is a Drug-Free All Star Ambassador, Texans for Safe & Drug Free Youth member, Student Council class representative 11th grade and secretary/treasurer in 9th grade, Anchor Club secretary, KYSSED Club, Interact Club, Ignite Program, Pan American Student Forum Club (Spanish), Robotics, Academic Decathlon, UIL Number Sense and Science, To-be Eagle Scout, DUKE TIP Biomedical ethics and genetic counseling course at Rice University, AP Scholar with Distinction, PSAT National Merit Commended Scholar, PSAT National Rural and Small Town Recognition Award, Rotary Youth Leadership awards, CADCA (Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America) Scholarship. Taha plans to attend Texas A&M.
