A new entrance for Lufkin Middle School has been forged through the forest off of Tulane Drive. For those who drive by, you will notice that the wide dirt path that is gated off on Tulane Drive is not available for public travel yet, but will serve as the construction entrance for the middle school. The building of the new middle school is the plan from the $75 million bond election that was approved in May of 2018. Currently the project is in Phase One as marked by the purple section on the Phasing Plan Map below. Project completion is slated for January 2024. The project is headed up by Lufkin ISD alumna Courtney Kelly architect at Goodwin-Lasiter-Strong (GLS).
