Missy Perry, nurse at Brandon Elementary, received the Lufkin ISD Purple Heart of Excellence Award for January. The award is given monthly to a nurse who has demonstrated extraordinary care of students, detailed records, problem-solving skills among other life-saving skills.
Mrs. Jan Fulbright, director of nursing, said, “Missy is always positive and has a contagious smile. Her heart for students is amazing. Also, Missy is a certified radiology technician (RT) with an associate’s degree from Angelina College.”
Nurse Perry started at Lufkin High School in 2015 and has been at Brandon Elementary since 2016.
