Herty Primary hosted Special Olympics in the gym and outdoors at the Herty campus. The students were climbing through hula hoops, riding bikes, jumping through bubbles and having a wonderful time. To help out, the Lufkin Middle School students and Herty 2nd grade students volunteered to show the special needs children the ropes and buddy up with them. It was a beautiful day with lots of smiles for this special event. Thanks to the Herty staff, Lufkin ISD therapists, counselors and others who went the extra mile to make this event happen.
