Members of the Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Lufkin program took the opportunity to take several tours of the district during their Education Day. The group started out at Burley Primary where Lufkin Middle School dual language students presented a play in Spanish. The class then toured the dual language classrooms. During lunch, Kurt Stephens, Lufkin High School principal, and Dr. Keven Ellis, State Board of Education member, spoke to the members. The tour continued at Dunbar Primary where students from the Multi-age class and the Gifted and Talented PACE program were busy doing projects with Google Earth and coding. Leadership Lufkin is a program of the Chamber of Commerce that educates and identifies existing and potential leaders in Lufkin/Angelina County.
