The Lufkin ISD Evento en Espanol will be held on Tuesday, November 14th beginning at 5:30 p.m at the Tom Jack Lucas Auditorium. This free event is hosted by the Nuestras Madres committee, which is a committee of Hispanic moms that come together monthly to talk about issues and ideas that can help communication between the school district and the Hispanic parents. The idea for Evento en Espanol was created from that committee and now hundreds of people turn out for this evening of festivities, educational sessions and delicious food by LaUnica. This year, Coston Elementary and Lufkin Middle School will kick off the event with entertainment in the auditorium. Then there will be breakout sessions with topics ranging from immigration to academic courses. Food will be to-go plates and the evening will wrap up with door prizes. We thank the Nuestras Madres group for all of their hard work in making this night a success.
