The fourth graders at Coston Elementary researched a historical character and made them come alive with costumes, informational posters and presentations to create a “live” wax museum. Their teacher Mrs. Lucas came up with the idea from when she had the assignment as a child. She said she was ‘Helen Keller’. Students represented all kinds of influential historical characters from Mother Theresa to John F. Kennedy, to more recent influencers like Dolly Parton and Simone Biles. Parents, third and fifth graders and staff members enjoyed pressing the circle on the floor to see the wax figures come alive. Mrs. Lucas and Ms. Oden’s fourth grade students participated in the project in their English/Language Arts class.
