Kristi Gay

Lufkin ISD Board of Trustees President Kristi Gay

Kristi Gay was appointed to the Lufkin ISD Board of Trustees in June 2016. Kristi is a 1981 Magna Cum Laude graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in accounting and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant. She works as a Senior Vice President and Relationship Manager at Cadence Bank. Kristi serves on the boards of the Lufkin ISD Education Foundation, Second Helpings, and Angelina Thrive. Kristi is married to Ricky Gay, who is a graduate of Lufkin High School and Stephen F. Austin State University. He works as a forest manager for Acorn Forestry. Kristi and Ricky have three children, Kendall and Bailey, who are graduates of Texas A&M University, and Wyatt, who is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University, son-in-law, Ben, who is a graduate of Texas A&M University, and two grandsons, Emerson and Archer. Kristi and Ricky are passionate about music education and served 15 years in the Lufkin Band Booster organization while their children attended Lufkin ISD schools.

Matt Knight

Matt Knight was elected to the Board in May of 2018. He is a graduate of Hallsville (Texas) High School. He earned his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and his Masters in Education from Stephen F. Austin State University. He brings 15 years of experience working in public education as a teacher, coach and administrator. Knight is an associate at The Advanced Financial Group in Lufkin. He currently serves on the Boys and Girls Club of Lufkin Advisory Board, the Angelina County Chamber Leadership Tomorrow Committee, the Lufkin Youth Baseball Board, and is active coaching youth sports. He is a member of the Lufkin Host Lions Club, the Angelina County A&M Club, the Texas A&M Lettermen’s Association, and is a graduate of Leadership Lufkin. Matt’s wife, Brandie, is the Success Coach at Lufkin High School. They have three children, Cooper (LHS Class of ’24), Avery (’32) and Landry (’33). The Knights are members of Lufkin First United Methodist Church.

Allyson Langston

Allyson Treadway Langston was elected to the Lufkin ISD Board of Trustees in 2013. A mother of three children, ages 12, 18, and 22, Allyson and her family have lived in Lufkin for 27 years. The daughter of native Texans, Allyson graduated from Maine South High School in Park Ridge, Illinois, in 1990. She graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education in 1994. In 1997, she earned her Master of Arts in English at Stephen F. Austin State University. In 2000, she completed a Master of Education in Educational Leadership at Stephen F. Austin State University. Her career in education includes teaching students in grades 5th through 12th, as well as teaching English and Culturally Responsive Pedagogy in the Secondary Education Department at Stephen F. Austin. Allyson served as Assistant Head of School at St. Cyprian’s Episcopal School. Allyson joined the Junior League of Lufkin in 1998 and served as President, VP Community Projects, VP Communications and more during her active years. She has also served on the boards of Project Celebration; Garrett, Dunbar, and Anderson PTK; Lufkin Middle School PTS; First Christian Preschool; the Museum of East Texas. She is currently a board member of the Lufkin Education Foundation, Second Helpings, Angelina Arts Alliance and the Junior League of Lufkin Sustainers. She is the Interim Executive Director of the Museum of East Texas. She and her family attend First Baptist Church in Lufkin. Allyson is married to Kevin Langston, a 1989 LHS graduate, and their children are proud Lufkin Panthers and LHS alumni.

Joe Ceasar

Joseph Ceasar is a 1997 graduate of Dwight D. Eisenhower (Texas) High School. He earned a B.S. in Political Science (American Politics) from the United States Military Academy @ West Point in 2001. In 2010, Joe earned his MBA from the University of Houston’s Bauer College of Business with a concentration in Finance. Joe is the Founder and Executive Director of the Legacy Institute for Financial Education (LIFE) which operates the Juzi Spot, LIFE Tech, Generation A, Lufkin Urban Garden & Market, the Wazo Project, and Legacy Institute’s Financial Opportunity. Within LIFE, Joe and his wife Allanah provide financial empowerment to the most vulnerable members of our community with knowledge, experience and resources. Joe and Allanah moved to Lufkin in 2014 for Joe to serve as the Minister of the O’Quinn Street Church of Christ. Since moving to Lufkin, he has served as an Advisor for the Small Business Development Center at Angelina College for over a year and continues to serve on the Board of Directors for several local nonprofit organizations including the Angelina Arts Alliance, Angelina County Citizen’s Chamber of Commerce, the Lufkin Adult Learning Center, and the Planning and Zoning Committee for the City of Lufkin. He is also a member of the Concerned Black Men of Lufkin, Inc.

Hall Henderson

Hall Henderson was appointed to the LISD Board of Trustees in March of 2017. Henderson is a proud 2004 graduate of Lufkin High School. After graduation, Henderson continued his education by obtaining degrees from Angelina College, Stephen F. Austin State University, and Texas A&M University. Henderson is the President of Fortis Title Group which owns and operates title companies throughout the East Texas area. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Rebecca McIlveene Henderson. They are members of Lufkin’s First Baptist Church where Hall serves as a deacon and Rebecca serves in the women’s and children’s ministries. Hall and Rebecca have two sons, George and Charlie, that are in the Dual Language program, and a third son, Jack, that is a future Lufkin Panther. Hall currently serves as the Board President for East Texas Behavioral Resources, coaches youth baseball and basketball, and is an active member of the Lufkin Hosts Lions Club.

Scott Skelton

Scott Skelton was elected to the Lufkin ISD Board of Trustees in 2012. Skelton is a 1985 graduate of Denison (Texas) High School, a 1989 Graduate of Abilene Christian University, and a 1992 graduate of Baylor University School of Law. Skelton is a partner in the Skelton Slusher Barnhill Watkins Wells PLLC where he has practiced law for 30 years and is an owner in Community Title Company. Skelton is married to Sheila Todd Skelton, who is an Instructional Coach at Brandon Elementary. Scott and Sheila have two daughters, Dr. Lauren Skelton Ford, who is Pediatric Resident at Texas Tech University Health Science Center and Allison Garrison who is attending The University of Texas at Dallas and is obtaining a Masters degree in Speech Pathology. Both girls attended LISD schools from kindergarten through 12th grade.
