Parents for African-American Academic Success virtual event

Lufkin ISD earns state’s highest fiscal accountability rating
The Texas Education Agency assigned one of four financial accountability ratings to Texas school districts, with the highest being “A” for “Superior Achievement.” Lufkin ISD has achieved the highest rating for 16 prior years.

Senior art student selected as finalist in congressional art show
LHS senior Darah Lawrence was selected as one of seven finalists in the 1st Congressional District Art Show. Darah’s artwork titled “Looking for Love” was created with graphite and ink.

Lufkin Panther Marching Band received first division superior ratings
The Lufkin High School Panther Band performed at the UIL Region 21 Marching Contest on Wednesday, November 18 at Carthage High School where they earned first division superior ratings from all three judges.

LHS runners Hernandez, Murphy shine at state cross country meet
Lufkin High School senior Adan Hernandez finished 29th overall in his third trip to the Texas UIL Cross Country Championships, and LHS sophomore Kristopher Murphy was 65th in his first appearance.
