Lufkin High School College Night – Tonight!
To help students further prepare for college, Lufkin ISD will be hosting a College Night on Oct. 17 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Lufkin ISD Cafeteria.

Lufkin ISD prides itself on ensuring students are college-, career- and military-ready. The state has accountability indicators for school districts for postsecondary readiness called College, Career and Military Readiness (CCMR). Each indicator is tabulated and scored, and Lufkin ISD received 91 percentage points for all students.

Lufkin ISD is partnering with JAM Digital Media for live streaming for Lufkin Panther Athletics beginning on Oct. 21.
LMS awards WHAT-A-PANTHERS!
The WHAT-A-PANTHER award is presented each month to two students per grade level at Lufkin Middle School, a paraprofessional, and a teacher that exemplify the Panther Way.

Two Lufkin High School students honored with Commended National Merit Scholarship Program
Two Lufkin High School students have been named Commended Students in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program. According to a press release sent to the school by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, SreeNidhi Karnati and Griffin Willingham, are among about 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation who are being recognized for their exceptional promise.

BID BIG! to benefit Dyslexia Achievement Scholarship
Dyslexic students across the district will have artwork on display at the Museum of East Texas this Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. After the showcase, the items will go on an online auction with proceeds benefiting the Alys Ray Dyslexia Achievement Scholarship.

Bus Safety First – Dunbar Tigers learn very important bus safety skills
Dunbar Tigers are trained in bus safety thanks to the Lufkin ISD Transportation department. The staff brought over a shiny, new bus and their top-notch trained instructors and drivers to talk to the students about what to do in case of an emergency.
LHS students gather at sunrise See You At The Pole event
See You at the Pole is a global movement of prayer which is student-initiated, student-organized, and student-led. This year, the LHS Fellowship of Christian Athletes led the event and gathered for prayer around the flag poles near the new baseball and softball complex.
