As part of our continued commitment to strengthen campus security, we are introducing the Evolv Express Weapons Detection system in a live demonstration at our upcoming LHS Panther basketball games, on November 18th at the PAC. This updated screening process is designed to provide a smoother, quicker, and more welcoming entry experience while supporting our overall safety efforts. THINGS TO KNOW:
• You can walk through at your normal pace — the system is designed to keep lines moving quickly.
• You can keep most everyday items, like keys and cell phones, in your pockets without any issues.
• Some items, such as umbrellas, eyeglass cases, laptops, steel-toed boots, or stadium chairs, might trigger an alert. If that happens, a quick secondary check will clear you and you’ll be on your way.
• As a reminder, federal law (Gun-Free School Zones Act of 1990) prohibits weapons on school property.
• The system is completely safe for anyone with a pacemaker and for pregnant individuals.
