On November 13, 2025, a report was made to Lufkin Middle School officials that a student was in possession of a firearm. Lufkin Middle School was immediately placed on “SECURE” status, and administrators and law enforcement swiftly conducted a thorough investigation. The “SECURE” remained in place for approximately 35 minutes.
The threat was determined to be false, and no weapon was found on campus. Threats of this nature are taken very seriously, will be investigated, and legal action will be pursued if necessary.
We want to thank those who reported the threat —Lufkin Middle School Administration and Lufkin ISD Police Department — as well as local law enforcement for a swift and professional response.
