UPDATE: The student involved in the incident was identified and was removed from campus by law enforcement. There are no additional threats to students, staff, or the campus at this time. Lufkin High School continues to operate on a normal schedule.
Lufkin High School was placed on a “SECURE” on September 8 after reports of a possible weapon on campus. An unloaded firearm was located in a restroom trash can following a swift investigation. The school has resumed normal operations. We appreciate the quick and professional response from Lufkin ISD Administration, Lufkin ISD Police, and the City of Lufkin Police Department in keeping our students and campus safe.
