Brandon Beavers
Lufkin Independent School District is proud to announce that Mr. Brandon Beavers has been named the new Director of Bands. Beginning with the 2025–2026 school year, Mr. Beavers will enter his eighth year of teaching at Lufkin ISD, while also stepping into this exciting new leadership role for the first time.
A two-time graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University, Mr. Beavers holds both a Bachelor’s degree of Music Education and a Master’s degree of Music in Instrumental Conducting. Over the past seven years at Lufkin ISD, he has played a vital role in teaching and coaching the three-time state champion Panther Band. His deep knowledge, passion, and dedication to music education makes him an ideal fit to lead the program. “I’m thrilled to have been chosen to lead the Lufkin band program,” said Mr. Beavers. “I’m excited to continue the tradition of excellence that has long been a hallmark of the Lufkin ISD band program.”
Outside the band hall, Mr. Beavers enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Courtney Beavers, and their two dogs, Annie and Gracie. He also loves tackling DIY projects around the house and can often be found out-racing the competition in a game of Mario Kart.
Reflecting on his time with the district, Mr. Beavers shared, “I’m constantly surprised by the level of collegiality and kindness shown by everyone I get to know and work with. I am forever indebted to George Little for the mentorship he has provided throughout my journey.”
Looking ahead, Mr. Beavers is committed to continuing the band program’s legacy while prioritizing student safety and well-being. His vision includes fostering an environment where current, future, and former students are empowered to reach their full potential. “The work that goes into a successful band program is immense—for both students and directors—but it’s important to remember to have fun along the way,” he said.
Lufkin ISD is thrilled to welcome Mr. Beavers into his new role and looks forward to watching the band program flourish under his leadership.
