Lufkin ISD school closure being extended until May 4 per governor’s orders

by Sheila Adams | Mar 31, 2020 | coronavirus, Homepage Featured, Lufkin ISD | 0 comments

Lufkin ISD will extend the suspension of normal district operations until Monday, May 4, in an effort to support our nation’s need to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19.

Governor Abbott said in a press conference today, “If you’re not engaged in an essential service or activity, then you need to be at home for the purpose of slowing the spread of COVID-19.”

Meal distribution at seven locations across the district will still be available and curriculum pick up on Monday will include materials for two weeks.

Stay posted on the school’s social media accounts and website for updates.
