Science

Lufkin ISD strives to provide a meaningful, challenging science curriculum for all students. Through engaging lessons using real life applications, students are encouraged to go beyond what they have learned to create solutions for challenges and solve meaningful problems. Students are taught the Sciences pertaining to the:

  • Engineering Process
  • Nature of Science
  • Physical Science
  • Earth Science
  • Life Science

Science concepts are taught along with science processes to guide students with hands-on learning as well as thinking skills. Lufkin ISD provides differentiated instruction to support the learning of all students. Student success is enriched with technology, collaboration, creativity, along with inquiry and experiences.

Lufkin ISD science curriculum is based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, and includes the readiness and supporting standards set by the State of Texas.
