Caring Clowns International (CCI) recently collaborated with Slack Elementary School Student Council on a fundraiser called “Change Wars.” For several weeks, the students in grades 2 through 5 collected spare change and placed the coins in brightly decorated containers. At the conclusion of this class project, a total of $1,004.00 was collected. As an added incentive, the grade level that collected the most change received 3 “free days” of PE. Second grade met the challenge!
The decision was made to donate these funds to The East Texas Cancer Alliance of Hope in Lufkin to benefit families in need. The CCI Board of Directors voted to match this money to provide to the Alliance. The grand total was $2,008.00!
