The Lufkin Panthers are getting some new competition.

The Pack in 2024-26 will share a Class 5A-Division I football District 7 with these schools, according to the University Interscholastic League’s biennial reclassification and realignment that was announced this morning:

Lufkin’s District 10-5A basketball and volleyball opponents in 2024-25 and 2025-26 will be:

Lufkin’s latest enrollment snapshot for the UIL put the Panthers in the 5A-Division I range of 1,903 to 2,274 students. Many of the Pack’s former district opponents — including Longview, Tyler Legacy and Lancaster — all will be in Class 6A in the next two school years.
