2022 STEM Academy 

LHS Principal Dr. Emmons and STEM Coordinator Suzy Jungmann presented the 2022 STEM Academy students laptop computers and volunteer awards in the LHS library this week. The STEM Academy is a partnership between Lufkin High School at Stephen F. Austin State University. The STEM Academy offers students additional STEM elective courses taught on the high school campus, as well as laboratory/field experiences led by SFA professors.

In 2021-2022 the STEM Academy students volunteered for over 2,182 hours working with 12 different community partners at 25 events. The top 10 volunteers received plaques noting their hours of service for giving back to the Lufkin community. Collectively, these top ten volunteers had 622.5 hours of community outreach service.
