“It is indeed an honor to serve as the next Principal of Lufkin High School. I look forward to carrying on the rich tradition of Panther Nation as we continue in the pursuit of excellence. As Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. stated, ‘Everyone can be great because everyone can serve,'” said Dr. Emmons.

Although Superintendent Lynn Torres and the Lufkin ISD staff will miss the Boyd family, she was proud to announce the new hire for the high school.

“I wish the Boyds well with their new jobs in Salado ISD and am very grateful for their care and service to our students, staff and district as a whole. They will be missed. I am pleased to announce that Dr. Andre Emmons has been selected and named as the new principal of Lufkin High School. We look forward to welcoming him back to the Lufkin Panther family. He will start to transition as soon as he can. We are excited to get him on board,” she said.

Dr. Emmons is married to Annysue Emmons, a local nurse practitioner, and they have two boys, AJ and Alex. Dr. Emmons serves as the Youth Pastor at St. Thomas Spirit and Truth Ministries in Diboll.
