The Lufkin ISD Board of Trustees closed out the board meeting on Thursday night requesting a report from the administration on giving a One-Time Covid Pay Adjustment to staff in the coming year. The pay adjustment would give professional employees a one-time payment of $1,000 and paraprofessional and auxiliary employees a one-time payment of $750. The board would need to have a public hearing in January in order to authorize the One-Time Covid Pay Adjustment. Superintendent Lynn Torres indicated that this is something the board would like to do to show support for the staff.
The next board meeting will be on Thursday, Jan. 21 and if the public hearing is called, it will be posted at a future date.
