Diana Anderson, Founder of Book Buddies of East Texas, brought boxes and boxes of books to the students at Lufkin ISD elementary and primary schools. Each child received six books to take home. The gently used books are provided by Better World Books, as well as individual donations, and are sorted and boxed by local volunteers. 60,000 books have been donated to children in the East Texas area with 26,000 of those books going to students at Lufkin ISD. The students got to hand choose their books and searched through the many titles for their favorite characters and stories.

Mrs. Anderson and her mother, Sallye Darmstadter, make sure that books are in the hands and homes of students across East Texas. Their love for children and their passion for reading is evident. They are to be commended for their generous time and donation to the Lufkin ISD school district.
