The purpose of the Grandparents Day, as stated in the preamble to the statute, is “to honor grandparents, to give grandparents an opportunity to show love for their children’s children, and to help children become aware of the strength, information, and guidance older people can offer.” Lufkin ISD has many celebrations going on across the district to celebrate our grandparents.

Burley Primary – September 7 during lunch hours
Dunbar Primary – September 5 & 6 Grandparent picnics
Garrett Primary – September 7
Hackney Primary – September 6 & 7
Herty Primary – September 7 SPED/Kinder at 1:30 p.m., 1st – 2nd at 2 p.m.
Kurth Primary – September 7 – Kindergarten through 2nd
4K PACK – September 10th
Trout Primary – September 7
9:30 a.m. Second Grade
10:30 a.m. First Grade
12:00 noon Kindergarten
Elementary Schools:
Anderson Elementary – September 10
Brandon Elementary – September 14
Brookhollow Elementary – September 7 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Slack Elementary – September 6 & 7 4th and 5th on the 6th, 2nd and 3rd on the 7th
Coston Elementary – September 7 Grandparents can come eat lunch from 11a.m. to 1 p.m.
