Dr. George “Chip” Watts

George J. Watts, MD – “Chip”

After graduating from Lufkin High School in 2003, Dr. Watts received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology at Texas Christian University, then he attended Medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch for four years. After Medical school, Dr. Watts performed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Harvard Medical School) in Boston, Massachusetts. He recently completed a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Imaging and Intervention at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

He and his wife Elisa, who is currently completing her 2nd year of her 5-year radiology residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Harvard Medical School), have moved to Wellesley, Massachusetts, where Dr. Watts will be at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center as Assistant Professor in Musculoskeletal Radiology.

Dr. Watts is the grandson of the late Dr. William “Bill” and Emily Shelton, and the son of George Watts and the late Emily Shelton Watts. His uncle and aunt, Jeff and Becca Chance, reside in Lufkin. Dr. Watts and his wife are expecting their first child this fall.
