Art scholarships were given to four students at the Lufkin ISD board meeting. Art is an important part of the educational process, and Lufkin ISD proudly supports the fine arts.

Re-elected board members Scott Skelton and Hall Henderson took the oath of office as well as newly elected board member, Matt Knight.

Herty Primary hosted Special Olympics in the gym and outdoors at the Herty campus. The students were climbing through hula hoops, riding bikes, jumping through bubbles and having a wonderful time.
