This morning the Lufkin ISD Board of Trustees approved the 2020-2021 budget at a special called board meeting over Zoom. The budget-approved amount is $78,256,520. Instruction will account for 55% of the budget while 11% will be for plant maintenance and operations.
Superintendent Lynn Torres, said, “The special meeting was called for the board to approve the budget before the September 1 deadline. The public hearing will come later to approve the tax rate. The board has done a great job ensuring that the district is financially secure.”
The public hearing to set the tax rate will be on September 17, 2020 at 6 p.m. at the LISD Administration Building.
